Dry mixed (commingled) recycling is the collection of unsorted paper, plastics, cans, drinks cartons and other dry material. It is sorted into appropriate waste streams at our materials recovery facility.
Because it requires no sorting at the customer’s end it is ideal where space is at a premium and in areas where a wide range of different dry waste material is generated.
It means that your company can maximise its recycling performance without any extra effort from your staff. Pulse Environmental will do the separating for you.
Materials we can collect together include
- All office paper and envelopes
- Newspapers, magazines, brochures & directories
- Light card and sandwich boxes
- Drinks cans
- All plastics
- Drinks cartons
Although dry mixed recycling can help achieve very high levels of recycling it also has the potential to be easily contaminated with residual waste such as food, crisp bags, sweet wrappers and other non recyclable materials.
All material should be free from food and where possible liquids should be drained from cans and cartons.
Pulse Environmental will design a system that works for your company. We will carry out a waste audit to ensure all waste streams are identified and will provide unambiguous bin labelling, signage and promotional material to help ensure staff know exactly what can and cannot be recycled.
The necessary containers will be installed for recycling and for residual, non recyclable material, although we do encourage the separation of food for composting.
For small offices we can collect directly from the floors or we can provide appropriate external storage containers with scheduled or on-demand collections.
